Linking Librarians
Conferences are ideal venues for networking and connecting with others, yet many librarians go to conferences and spend most of their time talking to people they work with or others that they already know. It’s time to make the most of these opportunities by making new connections and then following through in the days/months that follow.
- What are connections?
- Why do you need to meet others?
- What’s in it for you?
These questions and more will be answered in this workshop.
Make the most of the conference! Learn how to ‘link’ with other librarians. Link up with like-minded individuals. Link up with others who are working on similar projects. Meet people who have similar interests. Simple tips to make the most of coffee breaks, lunches and social functions are shared. Learn effective ways to stay in touch with your new connections. Participate in hands on activities during this workshop. Take away ideas that can be used in your organization after the conference is over.
