Some words about the EAHIL 2012 website
The EAHIL 2012 website has had its 2nd release today.
- First release was a static website.
- Second release is a dynamic Website run by the Drupal Content Management System
Static site
The static site was build quickly, directly in HTML code, and published in January 2010, when the domain name was made available.
It was enhanced with an embedded Flickr sideshow providing a selection of pictures of Brussels.
Dynamic site
The dynamic site was prototyped in the first quarter of 2010 in order to provide the Local Organising Committee with a easy to use tool.
The site will evolves with the time, new functionalities will be added to fit with the needs of the LOC.
Drupal
Drupal is now a famous open source CMS, among others it is used by several Belgian official websites, including the Belgian Prime Minister. Drupal is also used worlwide in various contexts: the White House, Amnesty International, Christina Aguilera or the Cochrane Collaboration.
Drupal is modular, basic functionalities are provided by core modules. Its functional range can be widely extended by third party modules.
Drupal has been adopted by a lot of libraries for various project: Social OPAC, Websites, Intranet (1).
Drupal is a software of choice for creating all kind of websites, from blogs to social communities.
